I've a father of 3 so this build will take time but I hope in the end I will have something to maybe pass on to my son for when he gets ready to hit the trails.
Welcome.
Some advice....DO NOT USE CHAINS. If you want to be around to give your son the truck, spend a few pennies and buy proper straps. Chains and strap with hooks are more dangerous than most anything on a trail ride. You realize that someone could have easily been killed by that chain to the windshield.
As you saw, these truck do well in stock form, but some money spent on skidplates from MDB Fab will be money well spent and keep the risk of expensive repairs to a minimum. Protect the radiator and oil pan and grab some good tires, you will do well even without a lift.
Search around, ask some questions and get out and enjoy the truck!
