Florida doesn't count as being in the south, I think it broke ff NY, floated down and reattached to Georgia. .. Never met a southerner in Florida that wasn't a tourist.

We'll change that when you meet Mikekey. Course, he's from VA Bch, so that doesn't really count as the South either.

And as a former NYer (from the state, not the city, thank you), I fit right in since I speak "redneck" along with many other former NYers here.

Oh no, no way. That's a special breed of weird I hear.

Not if you're from north of the Mason-Dixon... :poke:

That's what I keep telling her.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

What people fail to realize is that for a New Yorker the "South" is really anything south of NY. So in reality, your argument is invalid.

My oldest son still lives there and was born in Tampa General.

Sounds like someone who's only been to the touristy parts of FL... Perhaps a tourist themeslves...
Come driving through my jurisdiction in Sumter County... Before working here, I had never heard the term "kin-folk" used in a sentence. Every other gas station here serves fresh fried gizzards and livers. And we get about 8-10 calls per day about livestock.

Not to mention that FL was the second state to secede from the union during the civil war. So that makes it historically AND geographically more "southern" than most states.

All anyone has to do is go read https://mobile.twitter.com/_FloridaMan to see how "South" Florida is. Tourism areas are just that, tourism areas. The real bread and butter is in the middle of the state where I'm sure Bacon will tell you the banjos play all night long.
