Hello and welcome,

There's actually 2 posts about similar issues in the Troubleshooting section that are very recent that will help you out with this.

I cleaned out the throttle body and even put seafoam in the gas tank and its running a lot better thanks for the advice. Now my next question is what kind of lift should I get I'm on a budget and just want to go up to a 30 to 32 inch tire something that will give me more clearance without breaking the bank.

theliftmeister.com 2.5" or 3" lift and some wheel spacers. Basically.. I'm in the same boat getting parts. 3" lift, struts and shocks, wheel spacers, and new tires i'm spending 1300. (very reasonable when most trucks JUST the lift is a grand for a good one :P)

Now from what i've learned so far, and Jason or Donny or someone with more experience can correct me if i'm wrong. With the 2.5" lift you don't NEED struts and shocks, but with the 3" you need longer travel rear shocks at minimum. But as they have convinced me, if you're going to do it, why not just go ahead and get the new front struts too haha. And go big or go home, might as well do the 3" too!

Then just throw some 265/75r16 tires on there and you have the ground clearance you desire.

THEN, they're all going to tell you to get the radiator and oil pan skid plates, which we're currently saving for (they're very convincing people here lol)

Pretty much summed it all up on what you'll be looking at when you lift. Persoanlly Marks 3" new shocks and struts, wheel spacers and some 32s. Browse the build thread for ideas and to get an idea on how it'll look.

I think in the end the 3" is the better choice, just due to the fewer parts and cheaper bushing replacements. For the price of front shocks and the hassle involved in the R&R it just makes sense to buy em. As for rear shocks, you'll never be upset they're longer.

It's gratifying making your own stuff, but it's a lot of work and it takes time. I encourage everyone who has the desire to give it a go. You'll never do worse in life by havin another skill. You can post pictures of the fab work and ask questions and you'll learn a lot and we'll make fun of ya and help point you in the right direction. Lots of laughs and good times ensue.

...I almost forgot, if you can spring for em the coilovers are worth the money. You'll have the lift you want and the ride is significantly better than stock. I was really really impressed. If I was to do it all over again I would have bought the coilovers instead of the lift.
