Spring question

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Okay so I'm working on beefing up the front end suspension to make it a lot less bouncy.

As stated in the past, I have the RC 2 inch front kit with KYB shocks on stock springs.

My plan is to change out the front shocks with Bilsteins to effect a better ride, while leaving the RC kit in. I have no plans on running an aftermarket bumper, but I do plan on taking the front bumper cover off and running radiator and oil pan skids.

So with all that being said, my question to you guys is:

What would be a better spring option to reduce bounce, add firmness, and hopefully not top out...85's or 86's?

Thanks everyone!

89's are gonna be too much for me, considering I'm not going to have hardly any weight on the front end.

With an Rc kit your close to topping out right now aren't you? I would change over to the inside strut lift that works better with other mods.

the RC kit is an inside the strut lift just like the BDS lift.
it basically replaces the upper strut mount with one that has a built in spacer to give ~2inches of lift.

87 and 88s are no longer commercially available, occasionally a member will pull a set off but not often.
I've seen mixed reports if 86s are still available.
The Moog springs are basically between an 85 and an 86 stiffness wise.
you might be able to find one of those that will fit your needs.
There is a thread out there Moog Spring Rates where I put the info on the springs they have out there.
Between there and other threads you might find what you need. We don't have a chart to how much lift they provide.

I think some guys have run the 81114s and they appear to be close to the 89s. Speculation would say the 81112s might be close to and 87/88 but we don't really have anyway to know.
