Hello everyone,

My name is Jim and I found this site through Trailvoy.com... Hoping to learn alot about Trailblazers. I just picked up my first 4x4 vehicle which is my 2002 Trailblazer LT which after looking into the RPO codes found that it has the G80. I may be new to the site but im not new to forums, i been tinkering and modding my vehicles since i started driving in 2005, Im 25 and i just got into the Truck/SUV scene and i used to be in the small GM compact car scene in which i had a Cavalier that i took to the GM tuner Bashes that they had for the J-bodies, but when i recently wrecked my Cavalier i quickly found out that i needed a 4wd and something to haul people as well as gear/equipment since for the past year i been using my cavalier for those purposes since im also a Paranormal Investigator and avid Camper and i like to fish every now and then. Anyways enough about my little history. LOL.... I got my trailblazer because i figured it would be a perfect vehicle for what i plan on doing and so far so good with it. I paid $3500 for it and it has 158k miles on it and is running real strong and i havent had a lick of trouble with it, been traveling alot with it.

My overall goal for my TB is to mod it a little at a time as well as fix the things it needs... It needs a hood, drivers fender and front bumper because it has a couple dents on it. I also eventually plan on doing some suspension mods to it as well as a little performance mods. Im hoping to learn all i can about doing the different things i plan on.

If you have any comments or criticism it is welcome, I enjoy learning and talking to others about TB's

After looking over my trailblazer the other day when i went over to my Uncle's house and he has a 2003 LTZ Trailblazer and i noticed that mine is lower then his LTZ, now mine is the LT but when i went underneath mine i noticed there is drop shocks on the rear i think they are called "Drop Zero" and there is blue coil springs on mine, the front struts are Bilstein.... I like the stance of it but i dont think it fits my TB since its a 4WD. Now i do plan on going back to stock suspension with a little lift to it or going with an aftermarket lifted suspension. I dont wanna go with a huge lift on it, prolly just a couple inches or so in lift.

Welcome!

Is that front tire in a hole, or does it just have 18PSI in it?

Depending on the tires you have on there now I think that thing is lowered about 1.5" all around

Ya it is lowered all the way around, im not sure what brand springs they are but they are blue. lol right now i gotta deal with it being lowered until i find a set of stock springs/struts or just go ahead and order them through my work.

s3customs: Im not sure where Uniontown is, is it by chance up near Akron area? cuz i work up in Kent, Ohio and i know that area fairly well.

Jim, what are you planning to do? Are you planning to get back to stock height or add some lift to your TB?
If you are looking to get back to stock height you can likely source some stock springs here on the cheap. Post a WTB thread in the classifieds area.

If you want some lift, there aren't a lot of options for lift springs for our platform but there are some options. We can help guide you in the right direction.

Let us know your plans and read through the thread below to get some ideas, search and ask questions. Just make sure to search before you ask questions, we try to keep the noise down to where searches are more meaningful.

If you want stock rear springs I have a set you can have just pay shipping. Struts/shocks I suggest shockwarehouse.com, You should be able to find someone with front springs here to.

I would also say that if you plan to lift, go ahead and get all your parts(springs, shocks, lift kit etc) and do it once so that you only have to get one alignment.

:Iagree: If you want to lift don't bother going back to stock it would be a waste.

You know i didnt think of it that way, those are actually good points, i would like to get a little higher than stock ride height. So ill prolly just go that route and gather all the components needed for a lift and just drive with what i have now until all the components are set in place. Cuz i can handle being lowered until i get everything i need.

Thanks for the input guys, Ill do some research on the different options i have available. Cuz im not looking to go ridiculous on height, just a little above stock height. Maybe something that i can use to go to Yankee Lake Truck Night up here in Northeast Ohio.
