Hi,
joined the site as I am going to take a swing at modding an off-road TB. Already have a 07 LT that my wife drives and am looking at a few local ones to use as a ginny pig of sorts!

Not new to the TB or to modding vehicles but I hope to learn from others on here about modding the TB!

Thanks, Philip

welcome Philip, you are in a rare situation. You actually came here before you bought a TB. Some things I would have liked to know before I bought mine

Make sure it has tow hooks.
If you get one with an I6, look for one with either 3.73 or 4.10 gears which is better if you go with larger tires.
while the I6 and V8 are comparable in both fuel mileage and HP, the V8 has a stronger (8.6) rear end and more low end torque.
The 8.6 rear also has more aftermarket support (lockers etc) than the 8.0 rear (in the I6 models).

Make sure to read through these threads and if you have any questions or want any input on what you are thinking about buying post a thread.

To those who asked, I am in Portland. I also already own a TB, its our 3rd one. (see profile) But I have not done anything beside a PCMSforless in the past.

This will be an adventure! Thanks for all the input. Keep it coming. Unfortunately the LT I wanted today sold before I got there. Now looking at an LS. Wish me luck

Hello! Glad to see another Portlander!
The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.

Philip, do a search for Pinyon Squeeze and you'll find out all you need to know!

Welcome. Another portlander! Congrats on finding this place.

Donny, I was gonna come hang out a few weeks ago but my roommate shot himself. We'll try to get together over the summer. I need an escape.

Well, I just made a deal and Monday night we will be a 2 TB family. 2003 LS in the ugliest light green on the planet. So it looks like a custom black bumper, black wheels, well you get the picture.

Wait, you dont have a picture yet! Will post up next week. So as soon as my PT GT sells, I will start a build thread and spend some $$...

That sucks. Beers at my place anytime. My house is full of two houses worth of furniture currently though.
