First time installing a lift...

So I purchased a mark mc 2" lift, moog 81114's (86's i hope), and bilstein hd's.

I started about six and have gotten the front tore down but have been unsuccessful at compressing the new springs enough to install the lift. Looks like I'm going to get another set of compressors to get the the last of the spring compressed.

Just keep cranking on it man lol. Be careful though. I used normal ones. It was hard but got the job done.

Please don't do what my buddy did and hover your face over the top if the strut mount as your releasing the strut nut...it makes for a very big, bloody mess to clean.

you have to open the compressors a long way to get enough bite to compress them enough to put back together.

Yeah ended up using four compressors but got the strut assembly back together this morning.

I'll get it all back on the truck this evening and post up pics.

How has this turned out for you? Has the front settled much? What about your front suspension angles (CV shafts ok during full suspension travel? Compression to full droop?)? How's the ride compared to the factory springs?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to know how its turned out.

Ok, so I've got about 900 miles on the lift and the truck is driving considerably better. :flex dirty:

Benefits -
1. Firmer ride quality. I can actually brake going into a curve and not feel like I'm gonna do an endo.
2. Slight rake front to rear of .5" using Z-71 and 2" spacer in the rear

Opportunities -
1. Moog 81114s seem to be performing similar to 89's. It is very easy for me to 'top out'. There are several 'dips' in the road on my way to work where i can work the suspension pretty good. These springs almost feel like the truck is being thrown up and out of the dip. I really like it. :woot:
2. I'm having an issue with the strut on the passenger side. I think I've got the nut torqued all the way down but there is about a half an inch of movement on that side since it settled in. I'd appreciate some assistance on this one. I really don't want to have to pull this thing off again. :mechanic:
