I'd be game for a Summer run if we didn't just move to FL, Harrison VA, used to be my backyard.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

I think I read through this entire post, but didn't see it yet (maybe I missed it)

Do we have a location decided on yet? Are we setting 4/27-4/29 in stone? Just need to make plans and don't want to do that till I'm sure I have the dates right.

Yep, 27-29 is set.

We'll be going down to GWNF. Meeting up in Harrisonburg at noon on Friday. Want to convoy?

What types of trails are people looking for?

Most trails in the area are a 1.5 or 2 rating. Most difficult is probably a 3. (per http://www.offroadtb.com/articles/trail-rating-guide/)

If people are interested in hitting some 2.5 or 3 stuff to begin the event, there are some fun side trails that are easy to hit first. The issue being that they are out-and-back trails. We'll just need to be careful to properly coordinate turning around 9 vehicles.

If people are more interested in exploration and less interested in hitting difficult trails, we can head up to flagpole mountain first, and explore that area a bit more in depth.

We can discuss driving plans for Saturday on Friday night, once everyone gets a feel for the trails.

So meeting at noon at the Walmart Gas station (38.433724,-78.85461). Be ready to leave for the trails at 12:30.

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.433724 ... s&t=h&z=17

We can plan on a quick lunch on the trail - or we can all plan to have lunch before we leave. Which is the preferred option?

Sure we'll work it out as we get closer. I'm game for what ever I can manage to get my truck ready for by then. Would very much like to find some more challenging stuff.

We will have a few winches then. I hope someone gets stuck so we can practice some recovery methods. But we'll see. Friday's trails won't be too bad. A few good fun sections. Saturday morning will have a few good challenges (including an optional 3.5 rock section).

We still need to decide what sort of style we want for Saturday afternoon - long distance offroad exploration, or rougher trails. But we can decide that Friday night.
