Loud squeal after hitting curb...opps

Something not working right?

So we got dumped on with snow today...I was driving through a parking lot and the next thing you know a run over a curb. After hitting the curb I had a loud squeal coming from the middle of the truck on the passenger side. I drove home which was only 2 minutes away. It seemed the faster I went the sound faded...I think. When I got home I jacked the front up and spun the tire. There was no noise. So I moved to the back tire. I started turning it and there was the squeal noise again. So I got my wife to spin the tire as I was under the truck. I sounded like it was coming from the transmision area, kinda in the middle on the bottom of the truck. It wasnt the drive shaft, it sounded like it was just in front of it(closer to the front of the truck). I cant seem to figure it out and need some help. What are your thoughts?

Does it sound like a super obnoxious rubber on metal sound? could be the U-joint. they sound just like that when they start failing. it could be the one closest to the T case for the rear drive shaft.

No, its not the ujoints. It sounds like its inside the TC.

Is your T-case a chain driven one like old jeeps? chain may have came loose and is rubbing the inside of the case. otherwise i dont know.. sorry

Needs more information.

Were you in 4WD when the curb hit occurred? Can you shift to 4HI/4LO now? is the truck driveable? Where exactly did the curb hit happen on the truck?

Sorry guys, I was at work all day. i was in 2hi and hit the rear end passenger side tire on the curb. The truck is driveable. I havent tried 4x4 yet. i will right after dinner.

I went out and drove the truck around for the first time since it happend. The LOUD squeal isnt there anymore.....? 4hi and everything else works fine. Im lost. Should I just let it be and see if it happens again?

It might have just been some gravel in snow that got jammed up in your rear brake.

I was just as confused as everyone. The noise was forsure coming from inside the TC. But hasnt made a peep since...Ill just keep driving it as I do and see what happens.
