Im coming home from Iraq and need positive projects to ease my mind and i love my TB! I bought it 2 weeks prior to deployment and need cost effective tune ups to get her away from her Stock sisters. Its 75000 miles and i know nothing about her history. Whats first to make sure all engine and drivetrain components are ready for another 100000 miles? Im mechanically inclined just limited on funds for major jobs til my wife pays off her crap. Haha

i would start by checking all the fluids including the diffs and transfer case and replace them. Do a basic upgrade, clean throttle body.and then go from there.

welcome and thank you.

:thumright: Welcome :thumleft:

I agree with Hatchet669, also get at least a Haynes book for it and do the service checks for its mileage if you can't spend the money for a Service Manual. These trucks are pretty tight vehicles overall. We on this site have pointed where issues that can arise though with the front suspension/drivetrain. The abuse the truck has had along with what you plan to do with it will determine the rate of failures it will incur.

Have fun with your truck, we love ours here on this site.

Thank you, Glad you are coming home.

Welcome!

First off get home safe. How many days and the wake-up? The I would follow what Hatchet suggested and get a book to help with things as Ran stated.

Thanks for everyones good wishes and advice. Ill be back to fort bragg within the week and cant wait to get my arms around my two sons and wife. I will check the fluid and do a transmission oil and filter change not flush cuz i heard flushing can cause old gunk to come up. Also i need new tires. I have 255/ 65 R17 on stock alloy wheels. Any advice on better size, brand, and store or donations would be most appreciated. Thanks again!
