Me and josh will be at Atison around 8 am. All are welcome, sorry for the short notice. I plan on taking it easy because my truck has to make it to the outer banks on sunday and stand being abused all week on the beach before the 400 miles back home.

And i told josh that he should start lining up a suspension lift kit that replaces the ball joints as part of the lift so when they finally crap out, BOOM, kill two birds with one stone and save a few bucks.

So pretty much a crappy trip. I ripped a valve stem off in a mud pit and had to ride home on my spare. Also somewhere along the line my trans sucked some water and was hard shifting all the way home. 
My neighbor is a mechanic and took me to his shop after hours. We used a fluid exchanger to cycle 31 quarts of Dek 3 ATF to get the water out, also changed the trans filter. The fluid was just like pepto bismal. Now the water is gone the truck shifts like butter. ALso when i went to upload the pics from my memory card.... Cant upload them for some reason. 
i cleared the card and uploaded new pics sice then soooo IdK! Josh had fun though. Dek 3 at roughly $5 a quart plus a $10 filter = you do the math....

Dave, I don't have my manual handy but I think we need Dex6 in our TB tranny's.

I have a 97 K1500 takes dex6 or dex3. dex6 came out in or about 2005. check your book but you can use dex6 (at twice the cost) in dex3 applications but not vice versa. BTW im pretty sure my truck and your TB's have the same trans. 4L60E sound familiar?

It certainly was the pinion seal. I dropped 200 into it before all was said and done.

I double checked, I have an 06 and it requires the Dex6 which I think is a synthetic blend.

Yea, idk if there is anything different between them, its the same part #. DEX 6 can be used in DEX 3 apps, but Dex 3 bottles have a warning not to use dex 3 in dex 6 apps. The guys at the autoparts store said it has different detergents. so i just dont know.

I think Dex6 is a synthetic blend. Dex3 might be full mineral oil.
I expect the blend is slicker/cooler and can last longer.
