Took my Trailblazer on its first off road/mudding trip. Buddy of mine with the FJ Cruiser took us up on Signal mountain in TN to Big Fork and Prentice Cooper. Man what a blast. Was a little worried with my worn out AT’s but he said he had made it through these trails on stock tires so figured Id try. Was more then I was expecting but the trailblazer handled GREAT.
First trail at Big Fork we tried had a new “Posted” sign on it, which he said wasn’t there a few weeks ago. So we went down to where we could turn around and came out of it. But so rocky cliffs to go down to get there and back up. Was very impressed at how well my TB made it through.
Then we went down another trail that was open and did some more small rock drop offs and small mud holes with also some steep declines that we went up and down. Found a hole that he barely got through in Lo and with locker locked in and drop in was STEEP so I didn’t try it being still unsure of the TB and the tires so I went around it.

Went to Prentice Cooper and man what a awesome riding place. 2 tracks, trails, rocks, mud holes…you name it. He went through 1 and I went to go around it thinking I didn’t stand a chance and he come over radio (we were using walkies to communicate between trucks) I was going wrong way….the Mud hole was the right way according to him lol. So I said heck with it and gave it a shot. Dropped it in Lo and in I went. Made it through first try (barely). Wife had gotten out to take pics as did him and his wife and they turned out awesome. Ran into a buddy of mine that I race RC cars with out there that was stuck so we watched the other truck with him pull them out and to show off my buddy in his FJ went through the hole they were stuck in lol. They were in a 84 s-10 blazer and a ZX2 chevy blazer….they didn’t get very far before they had to turn back and we kept going. Did some more mud holes further up and some rocky areas then turned back cause his son had to be at some function by 6.

On way back we found the other trucks, 1 with hood up snapped a belt so we helped them “patch” the truck together by taking his power steering belt off and fitting it to run the truck enough to get them to main road to parts store.
Man what a blast of a day…..now for some pics.
