Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Herculiner party!

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by fishsticks » Sat Jun 04, 2011 12:34 am

Got the dents out of the front fender and mostly out of the rear as well.

My buddy Chris and I split a Herculiner kit. I did my fender flares, plastic under-door trim, sliders, and gray plastic on the bumper. Chris did a line along the bottom of his doors (where he has some body damage) and his rear bumper (flaking paint). We still have half a can left.

His Titan turned out really nice. There's a big dent in the underside of his rear door that you can't even see anymore.

Looks great, perfect spots for nice accents. I have a couple dents as well that I will be fixing up with that Raptor liner stuff but I'm gonna do the whole truck.

Nice Donny, I have been curious how it'd look on a black truck.

Nice project. I assume no hootuses were harmed in the process?

Epic thread I can never get out of my mind:

Steps were taken for hootus protection and I'm happy to announce that no hootuses (hootii?) were harmed during the course of this project.

I was really tempted to just keep rolling the stuff everywhere...

Nice! Something tells me this is not going to be the only herculiner your vehicle sees.

Donny,

Looks cool and effective! Looking at the pics, have you thought of extending the line up as far as the bumper line? Also doing the rear bumper itself?

:?: Does anyone know of a product like this that comes in colors other than just black :?:

Found it!

Q: What colors are available?
A: Black, Gray Red & White.

I did all the textured plastic bits on the rear bumper. The painted surfaces I left alone.

I may do the doors up to the bottom of the molding still... Not sure.

You can also get a product called U-POL Raptor liner, it is color matchable to anything and its spray on.

Looks good Donny! I'd like to hear how it holds up over the next month, and if it gets tacky in the summer heat. Looking to do this soon and right now am set on U-Pol raptor liner, but the ease of this stuff might make me think it over again.

I really want to do the molding because people keep hitting it with their doors in parking lots... it looks like hell...

Get rock sliders. Door dings are a thing of the past when you do.

just stay away from the duplicolor bed liner stuff. its shit. I am not happy with its durability at all. They have another product called bed armor. that may be better. But I have never used it.

It seems like every time I try and paint with that stuff, no matter how much I shake it before, it sprays all screwed up and blotchy at least once. I make sure to clean off the tip too.. I hate that stuff, I used the rest of my can on my free golf cart lol

Donny, since its been a few days, how has the herculiner set up so far? Is it really soft or has it hardened up a good bit?

Rock hard. It doesn't get tacky in direct sunlight either.... although it softens a bit if you weld too close to it.

It's been through a car wash and didn't have any issues. My friend's truck it working out well also.

Cool, good to hear, haaha And yea I'll bet it does soften when near welding. Might have to have my own herculiner party then, either this weekend or next.
