Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Bluetooth OBD2 adapter + Torque = Scangauge on crack.

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Note: Chinese electronics are OK, and I've visited many of their plants. I just think they source a lot of suspension crap parts.

Cool thanks Roadie

Finally picked up my ELM327 for $20 from Amazon retailer dependableresource. I hooked it up, and I have to say I'm damn impressed. For a total of $20 in parts, I have something that makes the Scangauge look like a ripoff... Torque free is a little buggy, and I wanted to know if anybody noticed any bugs with the paid version before I jump into that. Also, thinking of getting a tablet for a bigger gauge display!

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that the torque app finally displays the tranny temp and more!! Unfortunately it does not work with the cheap ebay clones (well mine at least). I emailed Ian about this issue and apparently my adapter kept throwing error and would freeze after 5 seconds, so hopefully all of yours will actually work. Neither of the auto PID's(method 1 and 2) work for the tranny temp you need to go to your setting and manage custom PID's. Once you are there choose "Add predefined set" for GM. Once it adds a bunch of PID's you can go to add a gauge and choose tranny.fld.temp. (I think that's what its called).
I also noticed that the fuel gauge never worked so I did some research on GM PID's and came across one that I used and it worked to make a Oil Life, Fuel Level, and also Engine Oil Temp gauge. This is the website I used http://www.scangauge.com/support/pdfs/XGAUGE.pdf
Hope this helps you guys figure it out!!!
Since my ebay clone didn't work with the tranny I ended up buying this. http://www.amazon.com/PLX-Devices-Kiwi-Blue-Tooth-Bluetooth/dp/B004B0C1NE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306523971&sr=8-1 And it is working great so far.
Oh and there is also a Trailblazer theme that looks much like our gauges which is cool, I was using that but for some reason it decided to make my gauges blue and yellow in the pictures.
Here are some of the gauges that I was messing with.

I am running the http://www.amazon.com/PLX-Devices-Kiwi-Blue-Tooth-Bluetooth/dp/B004B0C1NE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306523971&sr=8-1 which has a 6ft cable which is unnecessary but I ran it under my dash and hid the main Bluetooth module under the dash. Once that is hooked you can leave it alone and just use your phone to connect to it wireless with your phone using Bluetooth.

I literally use mine everyday. Just wish we had a "real" oil pressure sensor.

It's the only one I've bought, best 25($20 adapter) bucks I've ever spent. I have mine set to pull codes log and reset them when they occur, since I have a crap APPS and it trips the reduced engine power. Recently been getting a pending cam shaft sensor code, let it run for a week without resetting and it never became permanent.

Roadie would be proud. I just swithed from an Iphone 4s to a Samsung Galaxy S4. :D I hope to have the bluetooth OBD2 adapterand torque running soon.

Time to read this thread thoroughly... :coffee:

I have the free version and have used the adaptor several time recently to check for codes when looking at used vans for the wife. Pretty handy.
