Lift mounting question

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

hi folks I have sourced a lift via another member, it is the RC lift. He said the nuts used to mount the spacer are one use cinch nuts that he does not have.
Should I try to find nuts just like that or will a grade 8 nut with some locktite work just as well?
Will the factory nuts work at all? Not sure if they are even the same size/thread.
Does it even need a grade 8? The instructions say to torque it to 34-40lbs does that mean a lighter grade will work?

I want to do it right but not overkill or spend 2 weeks trying to find the right nuts.

Just make sure it's a lock nut (and I wouldn't use one with a nylon lock ring).

I don't know if any "one use" lock nuts, but I guess it's possible.

so it doesn't need to be any special grade and you wouldn't use a regular nut with locktite?

Grade 5 or above.

Locktite should work, but once it's "broken" it kinda loses it's hold (if you know what I'm saying).

makes sense so in 500 miles or so when I re-tourque the nuts they won't be effective so I should look for the locking nuts.

Many thanks!

Just use Grade 5/8 hardware. The nuts that come with the RC kit are nothing special. The only time they see any sort of force is when you're at full extension, and that's only the weight of the strut assembly/A arms.
