Help CV boot issue !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I got my truck back from the paint shop .... but have a new issue . The day I dropped it off I had heard a tick tick tick as I drove and was like I'll look for that noise later . Well on the way home it bugged me and I pulled over and found this ...






How long can I drive with it like this and what the costs involved ????
These are the original CVs and boots so I've been LUCKY to this point . Kinda IRONIC that a couple days after I lift it to the max this happens

if the boots not ripped and just slipped off you could do what alot of us have done
and get large dia hose clamps. i would inspect it good tho and clean and re pack with
grease. if its shot get some cardone axles,they are working out great for me and alot
of others here. same thing happened to me right after i lifted. and yea im diggin the paint
looks awesome!

The "tick tick tick" indicates issues greater than just a boot.

I wouldn't drive any longer than to home depot to grab a hose clamp. The inside of the boot will get torn up otherwise.

And I don't think ironic is the word you're looking for... I think it's "expected".

The green is nice, but aesthetically... needs black rims.

JamesDub has three hits left on the five search exemptions I issued him for being the FIRST EVER lifted TB I saw pics of. If it wasn't for him, I might not have gotten obsessed with lifting, and you can all speculate if history would have taken a different path for yourselves. That's my attitude, anyway.

I was lifted before I ever saw his but I do like it and respect the fact it was the pioneer truck. I really think being different and trying new things is half the fun with our rigs. Hopefully I can take another big step for real function this year.

The new color is cool and the new build seems solid. Be a really nice rig when completed again.

Since I work at Lowes I'll grab a hose clamp and try to fix it today .

Wow you lucked out big time. Mine didn't last past the 2 1/2" lift for 2 hours b4 popping off. BTW it was only $23 (I think) per side for new boots for me. I upgraded to the longer ones in poly. It was a 1 day job first time.

And I agree with everyone else. The paint job is sweet.

So I have been muscle-ing this damn boot and cant get it on . And yes I have searched for any tips or tricks before asking this .
Do you all have a trick for this ? I tried jacking under the lower a arm to get the CV shaft at a more level stance but the truck lifts off the jack under the frame . Just a tad worried about the jack moving and me being squished under the TB .

I'm brewing some more coffee maybe my caffine level isn't high enough yet , haha .

Maybe try a heat gun to warm it up more so it will stretch easier. It could be they are now just too short from drying out.

Poppycock. I'm still using the stock boots.

Try knocking the CV tripod out of the diff. Bushing should be easy to get on then.
