:Iagree:

I buy vehicles to keep. The TB may get pulled off of DD duty some day, but I'll keep it going until it crumbles to dust.

Problem is that dust may come too soon. Rust on bottom of doors of an 06 is ridiculous.

What I really find amusing though, I rarely buy replacement parts new. I have a couple of salvage yards around me that I have had great luck with, and I buy most every part at a fraction of the new cost. :excited:

There are no salvage yards in this town haha, closest would be the Phoenix area
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

126k and counting. I'll make these last as long as possible without pouring too much money into them. Once one or both are trashed, I will be swapping in an SS drivetrain.

I have 130,000 miles on my 04 TB, I change ALL my fluids religiously and it runs just as good as it did new if not better. I did just change the serp belt at 120,000 and and aftermarket air filter at 45,000 other then that I have not have to do any more then schedualed maintenance and fluid changes.

What can we do with rusting on the bottom? Can we spray something to minimize it or control it?

Bottom like your frame, or bottom of your door? If its your frame, i would Imagen that you could almost spray like a under body coating on it, like a lot of people do in VT to prevent rust. If its your door maybe sand it down so theres no rust and try to touch it up and match the paint with yours. I done it a few times when I was in VT. It aint really that noticeable when I did it, and if you do it right it should not be that noticeable with yours.
