New tires !!!!

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

They'll be here Friday. I even took Friday off to have them put on so I can get my Stanley Razors out and go to work lol. Went with Goodyear Duratracs 265/70/17. Can't wait to smell that rubber lol. Very interested thing I saw using Google looking for the best price. Goodyear owns a company called Kelly Tires (most of have heard of them) and they got a tire very comparable to the Duratracs. Thought I would put the info out there for everyone.

Kelly Safari TSR, $40-$50 less than Duratracs.

Yup, I know about the Kelly line..

I ran a set of Kelly Fierce tires which were a ton less than some of the comparable Goodyear tires. They held up extremely well for auto cross when I use to do it in my old car.

Let us know how they turn out.

I got the Duratracs, didn't know about the Kelly Safari TSR's until after I purchased the Duratracs. Was just wondering if anybody tried them out the TSR's yet. :coffee:

I saw some of the Kelly Safari's brand new and they have less tread than my half worn Pro Comp's. I am curious to see how many miles you get out of them for the savings vs the duratrac. They seemed like good tires. I know only some sizes of duratracs are 3 ply sidewalls, are the kelly 2 or 3 ply?

If ya re-read the OP post it states he got Duratrac's, he's just saying that Safari, owned by Goodyear, has a similar tire that is on the cheap...

Missed that. I do think my buddys duratracs had more tread depth than the kellys I saw. Oh well. Duratrac is great for everything but mud. Nice all around tire if you don't nead hardcore performance.

Looks like it would be better in mud than most AT tires, though...

We had a discussion about duratracs last night and the guys we wheel with say they just don't clean out well enough. Not much better than bfg at and those are a log standing proven offroad tire. I really think the next mtr will be a hybrid using older mtr and duratrac mixed together and it will make for quite a tire.

That's about what I would expect... Clean out about like, or just a little better than the BFG AT (which is, AFAIK, about the best off-road AT going)... I'm sure they clean out a TON better than a lot of the other more street oriented AT tires, though!
