Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

On the first day of this year cbbryan posted that he put on a set of Nexen Roadian ATs and liked them. That's all I've seen in regards to this tire brand.
On Craigslist in Portland are a set of 265/75/16 Nexen Roadian M/Ts being sold for $600.00 installed, mounted and balanced.
I like the looks of the tire but don't know much about them. Does anyone have thoughts on these tires?

I've not really cared for the Nexen street tires. They came on Misty (my girlfriend)'s Camaro and have just been miserable. I really noticed the difference when I switched to Generals. It feels like a whole new car. They were rough-riding, poor-handling, and noisy. The treadwear was good, but only because they were rock-hard.

That said, I have no experience with their off-road lineup, but will only caution that in the case of this brand, it does seem that you get what you pay for.

ETA:
Can't find any bad reviews though. And $600 is a very nice price to pay for 4 tires installed. Worst-case, you just sell them later as used tires.

They look similar in quality and style to the Pep Boys brand Definity Dakota M/T. I see no bad reviews, but for $600 out the door I wouldn't expect top of the line. They'll sure do you better than streets.
