Hey James,

put me down for tentative. I will try to confirm by mid April after I get something straightened out at work. (Not good times at the office these days :( )

AG

P.S. I will PM you later this week with something related.

Kyle, you can leave early if you have to... it's easier to meet up on Friday instead of giving you coordinates and letting you find your way to the campsite.

Alek, I hope you can make it... although, I'm sure I won't see you until Saturday at the earliest... :raspberry:

I think you are right about being simpler to meet than try to search out the campsite, but my concern is....

Is it a meet and trail ride all day or a meet at noon and wheel a couple hours to camp or a meet late afternoon and head straight to camp?

Trying to balance responsibilty of driving 10 hours and then hitting the trails, I may need to come in on Thursday and stay that night to be prepared and not exhausted. I actually think I am off the 7th, so Sunday can be as late as anyone wants.

For TECORE I, a couple of us met early... wheeled some... then came back in town to get the remaining trucks.

We can do something similar this time if it's needed.

We probably don't want to hit the final trail any later than about 4, just so we can take it easy and set up camp before it gets too late (and get there before anyone else steals it).

TECORE 2, everyone north of JD, so we all met up with him outside of Baltimore and all rolled down together. We stopped in town to get some things and fuel up. Then we hit a small trail before heading out toward the camp site. You do a bit of wheeling just to get to the site, which was fun.

Rules are rules. NoTB-NoGo. Had fun last year though.

 Maybe I could put ORTB stickers on my truck, tape my chevy skull bowtie to my grille and follow behind a little ways so as not to get into any pix ? If I happen to show up in the occasional shot, just say that it was weird how I kept ending up on the same trails. :safe:

What do you say, JD ?

As I said to Barton, I can only allow probably 6-8 trucks to come. I'll give those places to TBs first. If we have a lot of room left over in the end, then we can fill it with non-TBs.

You can add me to the list of attendee's. I am looking forward to getting out on the trail with some experienced off-roader's and learning what our trucks are capable of.

Great! The first page is updated.

Can everyone also make sure they read over the guidelines for the trip: http://tecore.offroadtb.com/tecore-trail-guidelines.pdf

My only question is what is the point of a firearm if it is not chambered and locked up? Is this the trail guide decision, because it is legal to carry in the National Forest. I have carried at every meet excluding the communist state of IL. It is only an issue if you make it one. I do not see how a firearm being carried is relevant to offroading.

I'll have my firearm with me, but I only wear it while at the campsite for bear/hillbilly protection.

On the trail, you're moving around, in and out of your seat, and working with others. I prefer that you do not have it on you during those times. I know guns are safe - I have one too, but it does not belong on your hip while on the trail. I REALLY don't want to have to dress a gunshot wound when we're that far away from a paved road.

That guideline was written a year ago and has morphed a bit.

Fair enough. I just generally keep a pocket peice at all times and it doesn't interfere with anything. I work on my truck with it in place often. It is like my wallet, always there. I prolly read into too much, but just wondered what the real stance was on the subject. I perfer not to have any extra holes as well, so it really is not a big issue.

As for hillbilly protection...sometimes it is easier to set a trap with chicken wings and cheap beer... :raspberry:

I ma still tentative at the moment. depending on funds / the next movie I do.....Looks like my GF will want to join so thats another woman to hang out with your wife's.....should make it more fun for them too.

I am also worried about the 10 hour drive. I will have to check things over on the map, and talk out a plan with the woman to see what we want to drive and for how long.

are dogs permitted on the trip?

Chicken wings and cheap beer!!?!??! WHERE?? (and why is there a rope around it, on the ground?)

The weapon hitting on things is really only an issue if you're carrying OWB in an Uncle Mike's textile belt holster or something... I wear an XD45C 4" in an MTAC IWB, literally all the time, and it's not an issue at all (running, wrenching, driving, etc.)... I do understand not wanting people to "gangsta" carry with it stuffed in their pants, though, where the trigger isn't covered, and it actually could go off...

As long as your dog is well trained, its ok. If your dog will run around barking its head off and running after people, please leave it at home.

If I'm working in close quarters with you, or going through a stuck assessment with you, I'd much prefer you be unarmed. As I said, I have a firearm, but I think they should always demand the proper respect. The moment you become too comfortable with it is when you make a mistake.

This isn't a firearm discussion though... these are my rules. If you want to continue discussing concealed carry, lets break it into another thread and leave this one for TECORE planning.
