Upper mounting hardware for front strut

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Hey everyone,
I put a 3" front and 2" rear on my 04 ext this past weekend. When i did the front i put everything back on and noticed a bad rattle from the front. Turned out the washer I put on top was to small and was just banging around in that center hole that the mount goes to. I took it back apart and put the larger mount washer on top. Noise is gone now but I just happened to be looking at pictures and noticed that someone else large washer looks to be at the top of that hole. Mine sits under the hole on the strut side not the engine side of the wheel well. Is this correct? I know pictures would help but im at work right now.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about. Do you have BDS or Marks or some other?
If the layout of what you have is anything like BDS, the stack up should be just like whats imaged below.

The center washer was the one I had on top to begin with but it went right thru the upper hole and was rattling. I have the large washer on top now because it seats against the hole and is tight with no rattling. I will try to take a picture when I get off work if its not raining. Does anyone have a picture of theres they can post to me so I can compare?

It was a lift off of ebay. There a block goes between the insulator and mount and then a smaller blocker ontop of mount. im going to get some pictures today hopefully

If that's the case Jared, shouldn't the upper mounting hardware for the front strut be exactly the same as stock? Or did your kit come with new strut mounting hardware?

Per my understanding, the larger washer needs to go on top in order to handle the extreme impulse loads that the shock experiences when the suspension hits full droop.
