Hi all, I've owned my 2004 LS Trailblazer 4x4 for about a year now and have held off on doing any modifications.... until now. I bought it from the second owner - the first was his father - and both of them used this as their tow-behind vehicle when they would go RV'ing. It had just under 72,000 miles on it when I got it, and I have no reason to doubt that the majority were just rolling miles as the families cruised across the US. Since the tires are getting to be about ready for replacement, I figured I'd step up in size a little. I bought an SMaxx lift off craigslist for a great price (1.75" front, 1.5" rear) and my wheel spacers should be here later this morning.

I'm not big into wheeling, but my girlfriend and I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. I guess this is more of a "Mall Rated" project, but I might see some light trails in the near future! My plan is to keep the stock wheels and move up to some 265/75/16 tires, make little upgrades as time goes on.

I'm thinking I want to swap the SMaxx kit for Mark's 2.5" kit in case anybody wants to buy or trade!

Anyway, I've lurked on this forum since I bought the truck but never had a real reason to post.

Glad to have you Sean. Sounds like a solid plan.

The only issue I see is that, to my knowledge, our odometer doesn't count miles when the ignition isn't turned on. So I believe that is 72,000 regular driven miles, plus whatever number of miles it was towed around the country. Still 72,000 is a pretty darn low number (my 2005 has about 180k), so at least the engine and transmission are still quite young on your truck.

Welcome! Marks kit is superior in my opinion.

Interesting... You could be right! Regardless, I've been extremely happy with the truck and it's obvious that the previous owners have taken great care of it. When I was searching for a trailblazer I couldn't find anything that was 1) in good condition and 2) had less than 100k miles! When this came along I jumped on it!

I've been researching lifts for the TB since I got it a year ago. My goal was always to go with Mark's kit. Even if the quality was equal to other products, the fact that a member took it upon himself to research, develop and provide products for us was a huge reason I would choose his kit over others.

That being said, someone locally was selling the SMaxx kit on craigslist and I was able to get a fantastic deal. But now I plan on buying Mark's 2.5" kit anyway and passing along the SMaxx lift to give someone else a good deal!

The spacers arrived yesterday and I just put them on this morning! The truck already looks a bit more butch, which was my goal from the beginning. Looks like brakes, front swaybar bushings and rear end links are in the near future, too!

Side note: If I'm doing the 2.5" kit, should I both with flipping the UCA's? Or would it be unnecessary unless I go 3" or more?

I would flip the UCAs over with the 2.5" kit. When you flip them over, you also switch sides of the vehicle.

Thanks Erik! It looks like a fairly simple, straight-forward job. I've sent out a few PM's about Mark's kit that some members have for sale. Want to get the lift done in the next few weeks.
