Hi everyone I've been reading a lot of the threads on this site before I joined or even had a tb. I just recently purchased my brothers 2005 trailblazer Ls 4wd. It has suspension spacers on it 245 tires and a smitty built winch on the front with brushguard. I love the truck and would like to go a little bigger on the tires with new mts. I am glad to be a part of the group there seems to be a lot of info on here. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site. Another guy from my home city.

Just a heads up when sharing details, no one knows exactly what size "245" is. That number is only representative of the width of the tire. For example a GG AT/2 in 245/70/16 is a 29.5 inch tire and in 245/70/17 it's a 30.5" tire. Manufacturers even vary slightly 315 does not equal 35 inch tire across the board.

So let us know what tire size you are thinking and we can help point you in the right direction. :thumleft:

Ok that does make sense. I'll have to look at them and see what size they are exactly.

It is on a bull bar type set up it sticks pretty far out I would post a pic but when I try it says the file is too large not too sure how to fix that

What kind of "bull bar"? All of the commercially available ones I've ever seen are not made for any type of winching let alone any form of force

You can post links to them in photo bucket or change the size of the photos. Normally if they are reduced in the size say down to 1024x768 they will upload.

Yup, that kind of looks like the Setina push bar. But I don't think it is. But whatever Robert and others will tell you is, that you shouldn't be winching on it, and if you care about approach angle off road, that's killing it for sure.

It looks cool enough, but once you are in the know, it goes from looking cool to being stupid. Sorry we're the bearers of bad news.

Thanks for the knowledge I'll take better pics of how it mounts but it has been used many times on the farm by my brother in law to pull equipment and a few times the tb out of ditches etc... With no issues
