Hello all. I have been a member of trailvoy for a while now and have been lurking here for a month or two. I have had my EXT for three years and joined trailvoy at about that time. I was a member of pirate4x4 in the past while I was working on a Cherokee project, SBC swap. I got most of it done before selling the project after losing interest. I am now 4 years into a six month project swapping a DOHC 4.6l V8 into my 97 Thunderbird.

I am here to get some advice and opinions on some modifications I would like to do on the truck. I have been looking for a little more ground clearance since the first time I took it down a b road and high centered on a drift of snow. That is when I joined trailvoy and started emailing MarkMC. I think I want a 3" susp lift and 32" tires. Still not sure, that is why I joined. That, and I got stuck again this winter. Backed into a ditch instead of my neighbors driveway.

Welcome! Except some advice about Trailvoy - it's a ghost town now. Nobody qualified to answer questions. The entire community moved to a new site two years ago when new corporate profit-mongering owners from Toronto took over. The non-offroading crowd is at GMTNation.com now. Shun trailvoy.

Thanks for the welcome. I am no noob to forums or proper etiquette. Check my threads on tccoa.com, same handle. Not trying to say I know anything, just want to show that I will search before I ask.

So what size tire can I run with no lift... Just kidding.

Are there any ORV parks or the like around here? I would like to get some idea of the baseline capability. I wouldn't mind joining in on a trail ride or two either.

Looks like the only places to go in Missouri are way down south. I live about a half hour north of KC. I have read every thread in the trip section, doesn't look very active in the Central US area. I will keep an eye on the threads though.

I did manage to get some mud on the tires today. Took a trip down to a lake near my house. There are a bunch of houses all around the lake, all dirt/gravel roads. Some of the roads are pretty steep and a little soft in places from melting snow and recent rains. I had no intention of tearing up their roads and the trailblazer did a pretty good job of just walking thru it all. There was one area that was for sale but the road up the one side of the property was steep, rutted and sloppy. No go on that one.

Woohoo, a little research and I think I found an Orv park near me. Kansas Rocks Recreational Park in Mapleton KS. The place looks great. I think I may make a Trip out there to see what the TB and I can do.

Found a great website that lists Orv parks. Riderplanet-usa.com check it out.

I wonder if there are enough local members to make some sort of trail meet out of it. If you go, let me know and I will see if I can meet you there.

not sure if there are many active members in the KC Metro area...I see a TB at the Mazuma Credit Union next to the Bannister complex that has a susp lift and wheel spacers with some nice sized tires, so no clue if he is into this site or a member of another unspoken site

a small gtg would be great if there were more folks in our area interested
