New to the TB

greetings everyone.

i just joined up to learn about my new to me ride. i have an 02 TB LS. just coming off of a 98 4runner that was lifted with 265/75/16's. my dad just bought a new silverado and my 4runner was getting tired so he was gracious enough to donate the TB to my cause. its got around 250 000kms and it looks like mint.

im very interested in lifting the TB and hoping to be able to run the same tires from my old 4runner. ive read about the BDS suspension lift and will install one soon.

also have some amps and subs from the 4runner that im hoping to install in the TB. i really like the factory look and am willing to sacrifice some sound quality versus an aftermarket deck if possible.

somemore about me, im originally from NFLD and now live in Toronto, ON. i'm a chef by trade and an avid ATV'er and gardener. i guess thats it so anyway, Hey everybody

Welcome.

Some quick advice...ditch BDS and go for MarkMC or a Rough Country lift. Many other users have recently had problems with BDS's "no fine print" warranty.

With either of those lifts and wheel spacers/adapters you should be able to run your 265's. You might even be able to use the same rims if you like them.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'll have a look at the two other listed lifts. Is either better than the other?

Oh,and would it be the 1.5in wheel spacers that I'd need?

minimum of 1.5" to clear the stock lugs, any thinner and you'll have to do some grinding

Both are solid lifts. I think it has more to do with your goals and your budget.
MarkMC has a taller kit that also costs a little more.

They're both excellent quality. Mark's lift gives you an extra 0.5 inch of front lift and 1.25 inches in the rear. It depends on how far you want to go.

Mark is really good about his shipping too. I got my wheel spacers like 3 days ahead of what he quoted me. Which inevitably got my ass chewed cause I went out and spent $1100 on tires. Lol

I'm with Mikekey on this one, radflos are the best option hands down.
After that I prefer the one piece construction of the 3" MarkMC lift.

Not everyone has the disposable cash to put into high priced items. We have to compromise and get the best bag for your buck.

Let me explain it like this, I paid 500 for a lift kit I'm now going to throw away for the most part. That's half way to the cost of the higher quality longer lasting/less problems component. Mark's kit while great isn't immune from the problem.

A lot of people have opinionated they would of gone that route first. I only suggested it as being the superior option.

Second off, if you are buying a lift you have disposable income to start. The question is, are you a patient person, or do you have to have it now. How long are you willing to save up if your level of disposable income each month isn't enough to purchase it outright or is outside your comfort level?

Sorry if that's offensive to some. Google "Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness." if you want to understand my reasoning.

I checked out the radflo site and it seems like they are a shock manufactor. I didn't see any lift kits availabe. I'm not afraid to spend money, just need to know what components I need to make the lift. Anyone with a list of parts maybe with P/N's for the radflo action?
