Hello everyone, my name is Derek I joined this site with an interest in getting back into offroading. I've done a lot of reading already on this site and the OS and have a lot of ideas and thoughts. My build is going to be slow but hopefully steady, family first I have a 3 yr old son and a daughter due in December. I would love to be able to make it to a TECORE in a year or so. My previous off road vehicle was an 81 ford F150 with a 6" susp. and a 3" body lift, geared 457 with a 302, running 38.5 super swampers and then a set of 35 super swamper boggers loved the boggers. Hope to be able to post pics of progress in a few days.

Thanks James, I have one question for you what is the model number, length on the hi lift jack that is commonly used by the members on our vehicles.

Welcome.

If your a fan of boggers, you should check with member Hardtrailz. He has a set available for sale. It may be a good start on your build.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I don't know what the model number is, but I know most all of us use the 48" variety.
11 Silverado LTZ - 6.2L/6l80, 2/3 drop, self tuned
85 Hilux - 3RZ, dual cases, caged, 40s, chromo everything
02 TrailBlazer LTZ - 35s, lockers, balls - Gone but not forgotten - Build

This should help you: http://www.hi-lift.com/hi-lift-jacks/pr ... rison.html

I went with a steel/cast black 48" jack. Mainly because it was black. If I had to get another one, I'd get the x-treme.

Oh, and a bit of advice... keep the pins nice and lubricated, and you'll love your hi-lift. They are very versatile tools... if you are not familliar with them, you might want to do a bit of light reading: http://www.offroadtb.com/articles/vehicle-recovery
