We're announcing the planning and upcoming registration for the official ORTB 5yr anniversary event.

Spend 4 nights & 5 days with all your forum buddies in Moab, Utah.

The event will begin the morning of Saturday September 20th, meeting at The Red Stone Inn at 8 am. Be advised you should arrive no later than the evening before on the 19th.

We will meet for breakfast, make sure everyone has necessary permits and passes and head off to our first route, the White Rim Trail, located within Canyonlands National Park.

We we will be posting the full event itinerary for each day and the trails and campsites within the next few months.

The event is free and open to all, however you will have to pay your own expenses (obviously) for required permits and such. We will post how and where to get permits and costs as soon as we can.

We wanted to post these dates so anyone who wants to attend has time to plan, save money and request time off from work. We know this is a big trip for most members.

While the cost is free, there will be some required gear for this trip, we will not be offroading with folks who don't cover the basics on their own. Getting towed out of most of these locations can cost upwards of $1000++ and there are fines.

Minimum 2" lift, absolute minimum of 30.5" tire.
Radiator & Oil Pan Skid Plates
    CB Radio

    1 qt power steering fluid
    Spare parts:
      1 front wheel hub

1 CV axle (maybe we should toss ball joints in too)
      1 spare tire
    Tire Repair Kit
    Zip Ties
    1 recovery strap
    1 tow strap
    1 tree saver strap
1 recovery point front and rear
5 Gallons of Drinking Water (Don't go into the desert w/ just beer)

RECOMMEND GEAR

Sign me up.. I'm up for another UA style event. Although I may fight the spare parts, since I don't have ball joints, tie rod ends, or cv shafts...

The nice thing is mine still handles the expeditions and high speed dirt well. Last Easter I drove to Moab, dumped it on its side, wheeled trails all week, then went exploring on the drive home. It doesn't always have to be the hard stuff to have fun. Im sure I will still need 4wd like the rest too.

P.s. remember to bring out of state alcohol.
