I'm planning a trip to Moab(for those unfamiliar with, its an offroad mecca). Was planning on going whenever i get my armor all installed(roughly 5weeks...Right mike? lol). Prolly going to be out there for at least a week. Looking to see if anyone wanted to join...This is a very tentative date to go and if anyone has any other input let me know whats most convenient for everyone i'd like to have as many tb's out there as possible so just pm or post on this forum to give me an idea of when would be the best time and then we can set a date, hope to have alot who can make it so we can be in good numbers and company! Hope to hear from everyone soon.

All The Best,
Mike Brown

P.S. if youre unsure of what moab is just search "moab 4x4" and youll get plenty of watching material lol :flex dirty:

Not sure I will get time off for a few months, but I'd LOVE to go back. Teebes and I have each been there (not together like many trips) for a week, and I was forced by weather to bypass Grand Staircase where I had planned another day and a half visit. Have you obtained maps and trail planning books yet? I have a pile of ones to recommend, if not.

Have you seen our trip reports and Youtube videos?

Moab sounds like a great time. I do plan to head down to Utah, but it wont be this year. My trip to South Dakota is taking up my available out of state offroading time this year. I may look at next year though if you plan another trip then.

I might be able to head down there for a 2-3 day trip during the weekdays (My weekends are during the work week) but I have no armor yet, Its on the list with Mike too. :D When you get some hard dates let me know. Oh and you will want to avoid the Jeep rally that goes on there in the spring. It is CRAZY there, like unsafe crazy. I will never go back there on that weekend as long as I live. I will watch this thread to keep updated.

No i havent yet but would definately like to hear about some. Not even really very tentative dates just rough timeline of june or july again just waiting on armor and then have to figure out when i can take leave just wanted to give plenty of time for any and all who want to go to plan and all that good stuff. Sweet vids by the way roadie hopefully we can get as many members out there as possible i know it'd be quite a trip for you east coast members but hope to see yall out there anyway.

Spread the word about the Trip. Got the maps, will be picking up books soon. Hopefully we can get some more ready to go if we can get enough solid numbers we could make it an annual thing maybe even give it a name lol (tecore is already taken...Jk everyone who started tecore) But seriously i know its kinda hard for some of us west coast guys to make it all the way east and vice versa so i think its a nice meeting place between CA, CO, NV, WA, and AZ.(sorry if i missed anyones state) Look forward to seeing some more replies.

Check the calendar for huge events to avoid:
http://www.discovermoab.com/calendar.htm

And personally, I hate hot weather camping:
http://www.moab-utah.com/rack/climate.html

Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Annual
Normal Max Temp 42.0 51.8 61.9 71.9 82.3 93.1 99.1 96.5 87.3 74.4 58.3 45.1 72.0
Normal Min Temp 18.0 25.5 34.2 41.9 50.1 57.5 64.1 62.8 52.8 40.8 30.6 21.4 41.6

You might think the night time temps are low enough in the summertime, but the rocks hold their heat AMAZINGLY well. Not at all like the open desert.

i gotcha roadie,90's just dont seem bad after 120+ all summer lol ill keep a close eye on the weather as it approaches we can always adjust accordingly to everyones schedule and preferences plus as far as the heat goes ill pass no judgement on amyone who'd rather stay at the local motels/hotels(i might end up in one depending on the wife! lol) thanks for the input roadie, looking forward to hearing more. If we need alittle more notice for spouses, jobs etc... just let me know and we could look at pushing dates later to say august or september if that would work better...im totally open to either.

The busiest time of the year in Moab, is the week leading up to easter.

Its also when all the big names, magazines, etc, are there.

Yeah i just found out i blew out my knee(fourth time) which means ill be getting medically retired from the army. So ill be resuming college in august to finish out my degree in auto tech. So anytime before the end of august and im gtg as well. As I've said previously Yall come out as long as you want even if its just a weekend or something that'd be good. It'd just be nice to run trails with fellow TB's instead of being surrounded by Jeeps and what have you like usual lol. So far im thinking around July CBR doesn't object...Roadie would you still be alright with the heat or would you pass on it?(I'll bring an A/C unit for you lol) Be nice having a seasoned Vet on the trails. As for anyone else thinking of going give input so we can put an actual date on this deal. Also anyone that can think of a name(gathering with 4 or more members needs a good name) I'm open to suggestions...Looking forward to seeing you boys in the desert

I'll be in IF I can get the TB prepped to go :flex dirty: . Just keep the idea going so we can get a good hard date set. Anytime is good as long as I've got notice. Is this going to be a Trailvoy only thing, or is it whatever?
