My first "overlanding" trip to be conducted in October 2018.
Will camp every night, no hotels, limited restaurants. Will try to cram all this into 9 days.
I really want you guys to suggest locations, routes, or save me from wasting my time if anything on this list isn't worth it. I will flesh out actual routes and camping spots as time goes on.

Current Plans
Leave here (NW PA)
Skyline Drive
GWNF Trails (TECORE AREA)
Blue Ridge Parkway
Hurricane Creek, NC (If I can find it)
Ocala State Forest, FL
Disney World (for the kids)
Huntington Beach State Park, SC
Uwharrie National Forest, NC OR Outer Banks
Push HOME

Would be cool to camp on one of the islands in the Outer Banks. The kids would like the beach. I don't fish however and not sure if taking a ferry to camp on the sand would be worth it. Outside input needed.

That's a lot of driving! Skyline and the Parkway aren't much for off-road driving, but they have a few impressive overlooks. Don't hit skyline drive on the weekend if you can help it. The parkway is LONG, and slow, but pretty. So just keep that in mind if you're trying to make good time. If you've got some time, I'd recommend stopping at the peaks of otter along the parkway and hiking to the top. Its an awesome view.

I'll probably join you for Ocala Nat Forest leg. Thems are my stomping grounds.
Hope you have A.C. for your tent. Night temps will be in the 80s with full humidity
