I have heard about this road from a few people already, and figured since it is just 5 minutes away, I'd better check it out sooner rather then later. Driving home today, I felt compelled to get dirty, so off I went... I didn't get to spend much time in there, but I most definitely will be going back soon! Hopefully after next rainfall. The road is not flat like Success Rd, it actually has a couple of hills and dips. The dips remind me a lot of Wharton, so rainfall should produce some nice mud holes.

Then I found the half pipe... decided to go check this out some more. This will be my new testing ground. There are a couple of paths that lead up to a nice sized landing. This is by no means GWNF, but its a fun little trail right around the corner from home!!!

Looks like fun, but doesnt even seem to need 4x4 unless it rained a ton.

FYI I am not trying to demote it. Hell if it was 5 minutes away I would drive it everyday, just wondering if it is really 4x4 without mud...

The half pipe did not require 4x4. It might with some mud. The 2 paths leading up to the incline that I did not take, appear as though as they might require the 4x4. The G80 definitely kicked in a couple of times...

Sweet deal. You should find a couple good pic spots and take them when it rains vs dry and you might watch to see if you see a pattern in the washout.

I wish I had a place like that close by me, currently my "proving" grounds are just over an hour away. It's BLM land and offers everything from trail rating 1-5 so it has a bit of everything.

When are you planning to come visit? I've been itching to go out and play. Also, I was just talking to Jeff, and he says he'd be up for a local day trip out and maybe ordering a couple pizzas and some beer to chill afterward.

Well, this Saturday won't work for me... hoping to get some work done to my bumper.

I went ahead and changed the title of this thread, since it seems to have become a Planning thread.

I can do this weekend, but I think we should hold off a week or two. IF that is ok with everyone. If not, I wouldn't mind going multiple weekends.
