well if you never carry it around you can get a mac mini and it will do better than what you have now. I have one at work with an I7 processor and 8GB of ram with a solid-state drive & 1TB data drive that smokes.

Here is the GoPro footage I got. Each were short enough to upload to photobucket and then I was able to edit them with their quick editing 'trim' feature.

This is most of the rock crawling portion of the trail. There is about 2-3 miles of class VI roads that we had to take to get to this point.

Wish I went up the rock face near the end of this, or atleast attempted it, but it was pretty big. Did go down it on the way out. In the dark at that.

Thicker ice than I was expecting.

Shoulda turned around before heading down...

This is the point Ben got stuck. Then we spent hours trying with no luck to get his truck out and the sun was pretty much down, we decided to head into town to try to get some help.

In the end did this run 3 times back and forth, twice in the dark. And on the last ride back up the trail had to pull Ben the whole way with his 4wd not working and no rear locker...

Fun times :gimp: :wallbash:

You would have had very little trouble with that rock face. Try it next time. Try it wet for more fun.

Man, that ice WAS thick! That's almost thick enough to drive over slowly.

No problems from the ice? Broken grille/lights/cv boots?

It was only MAYBE 1.5" thick, from what I saw... That usually won't even hold a person doing any kind of activity... At last years's early January Badlands run, I had to pull the Jeep in front of me, twice, because he broke through 5-6" ice...

You know what that would have done to your radiator if you hadn't had a rad skid on there?! Kyle went through already-broken-up ice that thick or less (going much slower) before the rad skid, and it bent his condensor!

I know. Should have tried it. If we didn't have that getting stuck in mud/clay for 12 hrs I was planning on trying it on the way out. Didn't feel like trying it in the pitch black on the recovery trips..

Mike got it. 1.5" thick if not a bit less. No way to drive over that, way too thin. Also I would not have gone thru without skids/ bumper. Hell I wouldn't even think of going offroad w/o skids. And I know I wasn't crawing at idle, but I really wasn't going fast thru at all, could of been a bit slower but I wanted enough speed to break the ice without stopping in my tracks, water was decently deep. Video makes it look a bit different than it was.

Put a crack in my headlight, was all the damage that was done to mine. Well also ripped off a taillight a got a nice scrape/ dent in my rear passenger door... Fine with the dent/ scrape and the taillight plugged right back in and work fine. Just needed to zip tie it on...

Hm, I guess I'm overestimating the strength of the ice. I just remembered running over a few pools of water last winter and didn't even crack the ice... but then-again, the water wasn't as deep or wide which may play a big factor in the strength.

Nice videos Nick... that go-pro is pretty impressive.

Yeah, go over them all the time 1.5-2" thick, but they're only 1.5-2" deep, so nowhere for the ice go to...

Yea that hole where the ice gets onto the hood is atleast 2 ft deep. Definitely looking to have some fun out there in the summer or whenever the next club run out there is... Not going out there again, without other capable rigs.

Really proves how much better a rig with a locked rear is than without. I had no trouble on this trail at all. Walked up everything. Loving the No-slip! Just wish I had lower gears...

Also just to note, at the start of the last video the hill that we go down covered in ice, was not fun to get Ben's no 4wd working TB back up, once we got him unstuck. It took Ben in the back of the pack strapped to me, me chained to the Jeep and the Jeep winching to a tree at the top.
