As part of a somewhat regular annual trip, we once again made it to Haskell Lake, which is in the Roscommon State Forest Area in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. Last time I was there, the TB was completely stock, which was two years ago. September 29th I had bought a new car battery because mine was close to going out. I took the old one and it powered and air compressor to blow up an air mattress and a CCFL for three hours before it died. Not a moment too soon!

Most of the trails are listed as snowmobile trails, but can be driven on.

I could have taken more pictures, but my ultimate lithium camera batteries died.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with an unpleasant surprise: several trails (closest to the lake) were barricaded by concrete blocks and sand mounds.

The old trail went up the hill beyond the block, now blocked with two 8-foot sand piles. The new trail is gravel and curves to the right:

Looks like a neat place. Too bad they closed so much off to you. Hitting one of those blocks in the wrong amount of snow while on a snowmobile would hurt. :ncool:

Your campfire shot is now warming up the room. Thanks

That's some crazy revamping they did of the trails. I assume that was due to a small minority not respecting the land.

The cabin burnt down years ago from what I've been told.

Also, a duck hunter (who was driving an F-150) liked my new bumper and wanted one.
