Well I guess you can take me off the list. I have finally seen that my hatch truly is a money pit and decided im gonna take what I can get for her. Plus my dads business is reallllly struggling and things are starting to get real tight around here so Im gonna help out where I can. Unfortunately it will only leave me able to do 2 or 3 trips this year but now is not the time for one of them. Hopefully we will be able to do another trip where I will be able to join!

Up to 70% probability now. Sandwiching it between trips to Boston and Manila.

Had a couple good paying gigs come through this week and the wife really wants to make another trip down to CA next month.

I'm back on the table as a possibility. I'll have a locked 4.56 rear end by then, but won't be able to use 4WD except in extreme need since my gear ratios won't match. I don't know what the chances of getting the front done in time are.

So I have just been made aware of an event called the northbay stand down, it is an event for military veterans it is 3 days in a row and I have been volunteered to do security by my superiors and guess what days it falls on, yep same days as the event we are planning. So being that I am a manditory volunteer I am withdrawing from this trip. I am sorry about that but hopefully I will be able to catch a trip before I move out of state.

Yeah being in the military is a great thing, but sometimes your plans come second. It is bitter sweet though as it is for our Vets so I am happy to do it for them.

There MIGHT be a small possibility that ill be able to go. If I were to go it'd be with my JEEP but to be honest I really don't feel like driving 15 hours or so to go there and wheel.

But mark me down as a possibility as I need to install my new axle and lift it more first.

I can wheel anytime I want. I'd be going to meet all of these jokers. :finger:

I just learned of this trip through a private message from Phil. I would love to go but there are just a couple of issues. First, I don't have a CB. I really can't afford to purchase one and install it AND pay for the trip itself. Second, I can't really afford the trip itself anyhow. I just got laid off but I'm going to be filing for unemployment and if I get it then I will be coming, granted that I sort out the CB situation.

So I guess put me down for tentative.

The CB is probably negotiable, since you could always get into the middle of the pack while we're on trails, and I have four FRS radios (three to loan out) so you'd always be in communication with SOMEBODY. Assuming you can locate the campground. We could leave voicemail for anybody not arriving Thursday, even if it involves a trip downhill to Bass Lake. Maybe you have some FRS/GMRSS radios or could borrow one - those little digital things you take on family hikes or Disneyland trips?

Sorry about the layoff - I just got back to work myself after 18 months off.

Actually I have a couple of those little radios myself so that will work out. Thanks for the offer, Bill. The family had planned a skydiving event for me, and its something I WILL eventually do, but I convinced them to put those funds towards this trip. The skydiving will always be there. Trailvoy/ORTB meets don't come around my way too often. My 4x4 isn't working but I'm gonna have it looked at and hopefully I can have it fixed before the trip. Otherwise I'll just have to wear out my rear tires. It might be premature for me to say I'm in for sure, but the way its looking I will be there!

Also, I do have a PA system so if I need to say something I'll just talk through that.. (kidding)

Hey Colin, I added you to tentative on the list, will add you to confirmed once you are there. I hope you'll be able to be there, because the more the merrier! Just got this month's schedule, and I'm really excited to go! We'll be finalizing the trail list and food/campsite plans in the next week or so, so stay tuned!

Okay, curious time... How many of the trails and locations that the group plans to be going to, will be passable via a purely stock Trailblazer? 4WD of course... And I noticed from a few threads ago on a different section of the forum that there's a calendar... Anyone need a photographer? :-)

Still keep me as a tentative, trying to balance the ideas of this trip vs. a week in the Pacific Northwest with some friends.....

We usually try and keep most everything passable by a stock TB, and where it isn't, we usually have people park and ride with our more modified members, then loop around and continue onwards. You may wish to remove your bumper cover in front to protect your plastic trim, and make sure that you have some usable recovery points a la tow hooks. We can always improvise, but this makes things easier. We're also going to discuss trails this coming week, taking into consideration the modification levels of our participants, so rest assured, we'll try and keep you in one piece and relatively unscathed while still having plenty of fun!

As far as photographers go, they're always welcome!

So the good news is I found a couple hundred bucks I stashed away a while ago! Bad news is there is still no way I can go. Saw on the news tonight that this week it will more than likely start snowing at 6k feet. So good luck with the trip guys and be safe!

I've been watching the radars, weather patterns, and been an addict to NOAA the past few days and I've only been seeing snow levels dropping to 8500 feet today, and 7500 feet tomorrow... Weather Channel says "The snow you see on the radar is way up there, dumping around 9500 to 10,000 feet."

I wouldn't mind waking up to two inches of snow on the ground!
