Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Fram!

Glad I wasn't the only one to catch that. Since I made that discovery for myself a while ago, It's been WIX filters only on my truck and parents vehicles.

Today I paid 250 shipped for a front diff with 4.10 gears to include the spline disconnect! I also picked up a tow bar for the Trailerblazer.

If anyone happens to have an E and R from their vehicle after debadging I am looking for them. Looking for the individual letters that were on the newer vehicles.

I bought one on here for about that same price.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Ebay. I have been watching for a while now, I see a lot of 3.42's, an occasional 3.73, but this was the first 4.10 I found and I had to jump on it.

No pictures yet. It is basically just the shell of the truck I bought off you. Everything has been stripped out and I replaced the drivers fender and hood. It is getting a new, custom bumper this afternoon and the tow bar next Monday. I plan on taking it to the Jamboree in Indianapolis this month so I will have some pictures soon.

yes I've decided that I am going to run all four wheels down. The tongue weight would have been extremely too heavy if I went the other route. The worst part about that is that I decided this after I stripped of the front wheels and suspension. Now I have to get it aligned.

Interesting. Are you locking the front wheels from steering or will they be able to steer freely?

05 was the first with the new letters.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

they will be able to turn freely. The steering assembly is still intact, so they are locked together. Otherwise they are free to move. this is the same way that rv's flat tow vehicles behind them.

Today I removed my Laird CB antenna and replaced it with an SS102 Aa the allure of "Big Radio" has really swept over me.

For all those that think the 102" is unsafe on the trails: don't worry, I have an old 67" that I can throw on for trail runs.

What do you tie yours down with? Does it hurt TX/RX?

Replaced Passenger front CV shaft assembly after leaking tripot boot for a few months now. Started feeling a vibration after driving for 30 mins, hope this fixes the issue. Also replaced the wheel hub assembly since I had it all apart.

I have both a 102" and a 4 ft, with the 102" up I get 1:1 however since I have it tied to the dang highlift, I shouldn't use it since it gives 4:1 (that might be backwards) with the plastic clip so long as it doesn't touch metal, you should be able to do ok tied down (remember it probably touches your taillight guards) I basically decided I was going to just add a second cb for highway use :safari:

I got the "custom" bumper mounted up today. IT took a bit of cutting to get it to slide into the frame rails, but it was nothing that a saw zaw and cut off wheel couldn't handle. I did have a close call with the cut off wheel though, on one of the cuts the blade got bound up a bit and cracked sending a piece of the cut off wheel at my leg at full speed. It caught me just enough to open up my leg a bit, but not much more then a scratch. Two more inches and it would have been into my leg and at that speed possibly into the bone. It was more then enough to scare the hell out of me and remind me of the importance of wearing more then just a pair of shorts and old shoes when I am working with stuff like that!
