Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Went off road again, got stuck in snow again. Came home and ordered a set of Duratrac 255/75r17s, 87 Springs and Bilstein HDs lol

Installed my dads '13 Silverado take-offs yesterday after an unfortunate incident between my front passenger tire and a piece of random metal road garbage. Needless to say, the metal won...

Realized I have two cracked rims. Two of my tires keep going low every couple of weeks... finally had a chance to get some soapy water on them to see what was going on, and I found hairline cracks at the bead that are leaking air.

Damn, that really makes me want to push ahead with steel wheels.

I was contemplating that. Not much offering in the stock bolt size.

NO, and I already ordered tires for 17" wheels.... But I'm looking at my spare, and seeing them for like 30 bucks on car-part. SO I think I might throw it in the bead blaster here at work and see how it cleans up

I tested my recovery equipment... in my front yard.

turns out if your teetering on the frame, you don't get traction lol. i knew there was a chance of this happening when i went at it.
I broke the snow bank...

so, got to test my recovery equipment. added a shovel to the truck and i need to add a good plug to the front for the winch. the battery booster just wasn't putting out the juice i needed.

overall, fun times

Today I pulled the rear drive line and lubed the inner splines. It gets old when you stop the first couple of times and you get that bump like someone tapped the rear bumper.

popped loose a couple clips, unscrewed three 7mm bolts and replaced the blown dash speaker that's been driving me nuts in the envoy

I went with the 17" steel spare wheels, I believe the set was around $200 from Tire Rack.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

Brought it to work again. 17.4ish mpg at 70 mph makes it not too bad for 135 miles a day.

Wow Kyle, that's pretty darn good. I've been in the mpg doldrums lately maxing out around 14.

Yeah I know, my build thread is a ghost town, I should go document whatever recent mods I've installed.

I had to return at home without power steering this morning. The temperature was below of minus 30C and my old return hose repair failed again. I know what I'll have to do this weekend...

Does someone have better idea than add clamps on rubber pipe. At this temperature the rubber is really stiff and pop out with the pressure. Change all the hose is a idea too but not in winter here in Canada.

Thank for your ideas
