What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I like that, kind of the same idea I was going for.

That's some Smittybilt bumper that we just made a mounting frame for.

Yeah, I think with the cans and everything, it's like $8xx... The frame has to be a little more than just some mounts, because it uses the stock rear crossmember in the JK as the structure for the hitch, but it's really not all that bad. 2ft of 3x3x1/4 tube and 4ft (more specifically, 46-5/8") of 2.5x2.5x1/4 tube. If you do it yourself, you can have less than $1000 in that bumper. That's the good thing about a model that lots of people buy bumpers/lifts/whatever for... Economies of scale...

I sent Wahugg a PM like 2 weeks ago, but the new interface shows PM's all the way to the bottom. I need some advice regarding tires.

Because of that, I still haven't gotten the new tires.

Cleaned the center console and under the front seats. I keep finding receipts from 2011-12.

You can ask the rest of us, stig... you don't have to do it only in PMs.

I got my new tires mounted. Pics soon enough.

Reg, I like the bumper. You going to pUT any filler plates in the sides? At first I thought you chopped your rear into a pickup, the picture was deceicing at first and I got really excited.

I suppose so, I had very specific questions though (related performance of his Duratracs, since we both live in the same area and he seems to be fairly happy with them).

You read Barton's experience w them?

Same basic geographical area. His weather hits you two hours later.

Yes, it will be finished up cosmetically, there just wasn't enough time. I am planning a lot of cutting, going from the bottom corner of the bumper to the body just above the wheel at the bottom corner of the door. I have a big clearance issue on the back of the tires now, so I need to make more room.

Yeah, I read about that and that's why I'm not sure. My current Goodyears (Silent Armor) have been good for 4+years.

Wahugg's farm is across town from me, so he knows how they handle in the area itself (with regards to how well they plow the roads and such).

Day trip, :safari: drove it 560km (340 miles, for the metrically challenged  ), about 100km (62.5mi.) of that on muddy logging roads. :flex dirty: Dragged the skid plates in the mud a few times. Also discovered that it has a computer limited speed of 160 km/hr, but that wasn't in the mud :D

Used it to take my daughter's summer tires to storage, and took a few shots of the mud from yesterdays trip.

Bought a new axle for mine. Ain't been put on yet. Will get it done when I take her to the shop to get the lift and disconnect housing done.

axles are heavy, once the trailing arms are disconnected things want to shift and move, you're working under a vehicle with no rear axle so it's nice to have someone there if something happens, 4 hands are better than 2....

i didn't say its not possible to do alone, or even that complicated, but 2 people would make it easier and quicker
