Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Bluetooth OBD2 adapter + Torque = Scangauge on crack.

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Other than cd it is a great tool for the price. Thanks to matt for helping figure out syncing up the droid. I had an issue with my old card being on my google account so just got the free torque and it works well and did what I needed. Will change card info and see what extra the pay torque app has.

I did havea p0411 code again. Had at tecore and seem to pop it after slow wheeling for a few hours.

Any more reviews on this? Was it worth purchasing? I'm getting tired of running to Autozone for code reads.

Definitely worth it to read codes. There is even a free app from torque. Cheap to play with and check and clear codes.

I'm definitely satisfied with the price/performance.

I think I have gotten the Transmission Temperature to work, kinda.
I finally got my OBD II reader yesterday and Torque and started messing with it and I got the transmission temp to show, but it seems like it only shows once and never updates like the coolant temp.

I add the custom PID 221940
with the equation
((A-40)*(9/5))+32

At first it didn't work but while I was heading to the store it displayed a temp of about 150 degrees Fahrenheit, but it seemed like it only updated once.
I want you guys to give it an try to make sure this isn't a fluke.

Good show. I meant to register on there and ask about trans temp but hadn't gotten around to it.

So I'm definitely either doing this or getting a Scangauge as going to AutoZone for codes has become rather annoying. I've gone like twice in the past month, once for each vehicle (TB and Shitfire), only to receive the same code with each (p0442 - emissions systems leak).
I have a Droid, so getting the adapter/app seems like the easiest, cheapest, and overall best way to do this. I just wanted to check with yinz to make sure my logic was sound...? What differences (if any) are there between the Torque app and the Scangauge? Has someone figured out how to keep an eye on the Transmission temp with the Torque app?

Thanks in advance!

I'm beginning to believe that 2002 models don't have a trans temp sensor, which is why I've been unable to monitor mine. The PID for it is in Torque already.

Just picked up one of these for $20, got a CEL still, and now that I'm not with the dealer, not so cost-effective to get it checked anymore. Really hoping it'll help me out with my 10-ish mpg problem :hissyfit:

Most of them that I've seen are around 40$. I'm trying to find one a bit cheaper, and doing research to make sure it's exactly what I want. Does anyone know if the CD for computers is Mac compatible? I assume it's not, as few things of this nature are, but just curious... My desktop is still a PC but my laptop is a Mac so I was hoping I could use that as well as my Droid.

From what I've heard, the software that comes with it is incredibly outdated and old. That said, it's bluetooth, so if you download or purchase newer software, it should interface with most any bluetooth-enabled pc at least. I'll let you know when I get it. I just found a good deal... Just search on google shopping for obd2 bluetooth and you'll be set.

You can run it on the Mac. If you have Wine, Parallels, or VMWare fusion with windows loaded. You can even run bootcamp and reboot into windows.

I'd really rather not run Windows, just using Microsoft Office daily is enough to piss me off, let alone going back to using Windows. Too many viruses and other garbage associated with it. Assuming it's not Mac compatible, just using my Droid should work out fine.

I just got a $20 cheapie from EBay vendor tomtom. Worked fine but I had to Google for the nonstandard pairing code 6789. Came in about ten days from China.

Note: Chinese electronics are OK, and I've visited many of their plants. I just think they source a lot of suspension crap parts.

It's all in how tightly the parts are spec'd.
