Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I'd say in 4 lo it wouldn't be an issue, I've found that in my '09 Sierra 2500HD I drive for work that once it's in 4 lo it pretty does everything it's supposed to, but on an incline facing down, in reverse and 4 hi, it will not accelerate enough to back up the incline. Seems like it just holds the low RPM similar to what is being described by fishsticks as TM...

The situation was busting through some snowy trails, in 4 hi, first gear, tires spinning some, but with being held to a lower rpm, not as much as I would have liked. After the fact, I did consider maybe putting it into 4 lo and a higher gear would have been the best in this situation. It may be something I go back and test at a later date after another snowfall up in the mountains.

I'll get around to posting a short clip or 2 that illustrates the situation some.

I re-analyzed my tune and found that I don't step on the gas enough. But while parked, I can only reach 4,000 rpms. Upon a sudden drop in RPM's, a loud rattle can be heard from underneath. Not related to the tune, but something I need to figure out.

4k is the rev limiter so you don't destroy your engine, trans, or the accessories while not in gear.

The rattle is probably a heat shield on your exhaust.

Back on topic:

My tracking number showed up from PCM4Less today. Estimated delivery on the 10th.

I went with the core package, but won't be sending a core in. My stock PCM will become a trail spare.

I found a little gem on the internet about performing a CASE relearn WITHOUT a scan tool. I'll share with the ORTB inner circle for now. If it works, perhaps it'll find it's way to the OS...

Looking to buy one of these in the near future. I was wondering what would be the best configuration for the tune. Also, I really dont know what the shift firmness would be (how much "clutch" the torque converter provides?)

Shift Firmness:
0 - No Change
1 - Quick Shift
2 - Firm Shift
3 - Firm as Possible

Speed Limiter:
0 - Leave as is
1 - Remove

Rev Limiter:
0 - Leave as is
1 - Remove
2 - tuners choice

Towing:
0 - No
1 - Moderate (<1500 lbs)
2 - Heavy (>1500lbs)
