I use an $80 curt carrier that's modified to fold down so the whole liftgate can open. Works really well, but there isn't a whole lot I can do in the way of jerry can or highlift mounts. If you want cheap, it's the way to go, if you want something that is really functional, look at Roadie's or James's build threads and see their custom ones.

Joey,

I can't believe you didn't warn Darren about the "problem" of viewing any of James' threads. Knowledge is power, but ignorance is bliss.

Sure, he'll see James' old spare mount...but then he'll see James' rear bumper too. And once that cat is out of the bag, he's gonna "need" a rear bumper which can also mount a spare.

Heres the curt one http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Cargo-C ... 4AodBFaLmQ I was thinking of getting this one but man it would be a pain if you needed to take it out to get in the back while the spare tire was mounted to it.

That is why they are modified to fold down.

Nobody warned me when I was new to the game, so I figured that was the norm. My pockets are considerably light, his can be too. :finger:

I think this would be pretty straight forward to adapt into a tire carrier

now that I look at it though, you can't put another receiver in there.
I think BartonMD makes tire carriers now also.
