Driver Control Pannel Stuck?

So as alot of you know I'm out in Utah while the TB sits in Georgia. I've been having a buddy drive it around every now and then to keep it alive. He recently told me that when the weather gets very hot the driver control will freeze (windows, locks, mirrors etc). He says after driving it awhile it will begin to work randomly. Obviously I'm not there to check it out. He said he checked fuses and nothing seemed wrong with them.

Any Ideas on what I can tell him to check? I know this isn't very informative.

I believe there is a recall on 06-07 for the driver side door panel can catch on fire due to corrosion, this could be an early sign, you might want to get it checked out.

I don't know if your truck is included but here is the info

General Motors and Isuzu are recalling more than 258,000 SUVs in the U.S. and Canada to fix short-circuits in power window and door lock switches that can cause fires. The recall covers Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X SUVs from the 2006 and 2007 model years. The SUVs were sold or registered in 20 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., and Canada, where salt and other chemicals are used to clear roads in the winter.

It spent all it's life in places where they dont salt roads. Just take by the dealership in case hmm.

So it's only the driver door control module? Do the other door's buttons work?

Yes the other door panels work.

I wouldn't expect a fuse then. I'd check wire/plug connections. See if the lights inside the buttons come on when it's not working. Could be an intermittent power or ground connection.

Lights such as the window lock light do not light up when the panel is not working

Based on the information at hand, I would start checking the main connections with a multimeter. It could be an intermittent ground or power issue.

Do the switch backlights still light up at night when the unit is not operational? That might further help narrow things down.

I'm not sure Those lights have ever worked. I'll be back with it next week so I'll know more details.
