No Power in driver side windshield sprayer

Something not working right?

by hobbstisdaman » Tue Apr 03, 2012 4:22 pm

So I've fiddled with it by trying to clear the tube from both ends with pressurized air. And even the dealer said he had fixed it back when it was under warranty, but I have no pressure with it. It hardly reaches to mid windshield and when it does its like mist. I have no idea where to look and for some reason it is killing me why something so simple won't be fixed.

I think there's only one pump for both front sprayers.

The pump line does feed into both, but the line seems clear because the right side is working perfectly. When I unplug the tube and press the sprayer button, the tube sprays water with a good bit of pressure. so the issue could be in the nozzle, but I can't seem to get at it with anything but toothpick.

Compare the pressure from both sides. If it shoots the same distance from both, then you know the issue is in the nozzle.

you might try a safety pin or paper clip or bread tie or something.

The hose is under the plastic cover, you have to remove the wiper arms, a few 10 mm nuts, and the antenna, and it will just lift out. The nozzles just snap into the plastic, and have a hose barb on the end.

Be really really careful when you take them off, I had the same problem with my 07, and ended up breaking the nozzle off... The only place to get replacement ones is the dealer, and are $25 a piece, unless you get some of the universal ones, but they are quite large and horrible looking.

You could try a pin to clear it out, or pull the line and disconnect it on the passenger side and soak the nozzles in water.
