4Wd Disconnect Rebuilt Succesfully, then 4WD Stopped Working

Something not working right?

The sleeve will be fine because it is supported with both bearings, vs the 1 bearing-per-gear currently.

Ok cool, just to confirm, the 4WD works but I have the service light, and the 4HI light flashes with 2HI steady on the switch. That's normal correct!

If the connector is off the front axle actuator, that's normal.

There should be no way for lift stress on the CV shaft to transfer to the gear and to the splined sleeve, as long as the bearings are intact. If the bearings are starting to loosen up and die, you can wiggle the CV shaft and the seal won't be a good seal.

Everything should be intact, it's all new! I'll start with the sleeve and go from there.

I just got the sleeve today! Does anyone know the direction the sleeve should be in stalled? It appears that one of the collars is slightly wider than the other.

Thanks!

Put the end with the tapered splines towards the CV axle.

Thanks! I just finished the re-build again, and let me tell you how smoothly it went, being that it was just rebuilt a few months ago. Axle came right out, and because I greased the disconnect fitting last time, it slid out with little muscle. Sleeve is in, and it works flawlessly. Thanks for everyone's help!
