I'm not really fond of the cheapos.. That's one part of the truck ill pay the money for the timkens. Just like I spend the money on moog for my TREs and ball joints.

There's a 35mm nut and outer CV holding the whole thing together too.

at least with the tires I run, I hear the bearing getting noisy long before there is even any play in them.
I can see paying extra for TRE or BallJoints, if they go out at highway speeds that can be really bad.

So can wheel hubs my cousin lost his tire doing 55 on the highway cause the wheel hub split in 2, ripping the cv apart

Just one of the many reasons why I haven't been out on a ride in over 1 year. Last time my truck saw any sort of dirt or trail was when I grenaded my rear diff. Since then, life has kind of got in the way of wheeling. Owning a home is such a pain sometimes!

My timkens have lasted 4 years so far. That equates to roughly 80k miles.

I'm over 160k on the factory hubs:-? Might be time to change them out, plus the brakes are screaming at me to replace them.

wow Rory, maybe they are roaring but you just can't hear them over the guard dogs ;-)
Seems like I got around 90k on mine and mine has mostly highway miles, 80k of that was un-lifted.

Make sure to check your rear brakes as well. Mine rears went out right after my fronts at about 70K. Every other vehicle I have ever owned the rears usually lasted 2X as long so that was a surprise.

I'm at 130,000 miles and I've never replaced a hub. Now, I've only been lifted about the last ten and wheeled say the last five or so...

I can't seem to wear out breaks either. :drive:

I can hear them, I haven't had the guarddogs on in year, two of them disintegrated on my way home from the overland rally last year, I've had Dick Cepek Mud Country since. This will be the third time I change the brakes.

Still confused about how I knocked my alignment out at the mall but they do have some hellish speed bumps.

How do you like the mud country? Really seem like a good tire, but pricey in 35s.

I love them, looking at ordering set of 5 late this year or early next year, nice ride and the hum is less annoying than the TW's. Looking at $250 each in 33s.

I can vouch for Rory. I have personally seen him drive the piss out of his truck on several occasions. And I've also heard stories...

It's actually funny, and something I've thought about before. It seems with Rory's truck, it gets beat on and it isn't a maintenance nightmare. But take someone like Moots, who takes his truck to get a gallon of milk down at the store, and his lower ball joints fall off....
