Truck dies at idle with AC on

Something not working right?

by DirtyBacon04 » Mon Jun 25, 2012 2:22 pm

So the other day, while sitting at a red light w/ ac on, the light turned green and i got a shudder REP light and my throttle was dead. The engine didnt stall, but my gas pedal was useless. I pulled P1680 and P0606. I idled into the median, shut off the engine, restarted it and I had throttle again. So i drove home with the CEL on and the REP off. I pulled the throttle body today and this is what I found. (last time I cleaned it was 21k miles ago)

So I cleaned it all up, cleaned off the MAF sensor, reassembled and started. I had the AC on because I was going to refill it, and before I could the engine died w/ CEL on. P0606 wasn't there, but P1680 was. When I turned the key, all i got as the cranking. Wouldnt fire up. I then turned off the AC and turned the key again. it fired right up.
Anyone thinking this could be as simple as changing out my PCM?

I think I would lean more toward an AC relay as was mentioned earlier.
That would be my guess.
