Cody... They are LEDs! In the video it looks like you have a massive dent on the hood... like a sumoh wrestler sat on it.. Was the hail in TN that big?! You're welcome for saving both you and the envoy from taking a direct hit from that tornado. I thought I was going to be without a chase partner! Then to have that same tornadic cell come right over us here. I hope we don't get anymore that close to home.

And on a side note: will somebody help me find this switch on my truck!?
:4wd:

LED strobes if you want to be specific I suppose. Saying strobes describes the function of the lights more so than saying LED's. As far as the dent, yeah I'm pretty sure it was either a fat dude sitting there, or a basketball incident. Idk, it's been there forever. I'll see if I can't pop it out or suction it out eventually. As far as the 4WD switch, I'm gonna go ahead and hope you're trollin'. Lol. :poke:

The idea for this set up was to be able to have complete access to the bottom storage built into the Trailblazer, while also allowing me room for my chuck box to fit easily in between. When I was developing and construction both boxes, I wanted to originally allow use of both of the small side compartments, but because of their locations how easily they would not be to access, I scratched that possibility. The drivers side has a drawer that will end up housing all the recovery gear, while the upper part will probably end up getting a divider and lid. On the passengers side, the two compartments are deeper, with the front having a shelf. The drivers side is flat at the same point to allow the drawer.

Liking the layout of the compartments! I think the layout will prove good for you. Might be cool to put a temporary tray over the top. Could help things when you're loaded to the brim...

Just have some wound. There are a dozen custom spring manufacturers out there. I've found some stocking products that would work.

Never mind, finally after two weeks gmpartsdirect went threw with my order and sold me the 89s. I thought they maybe sold out of that too, so I was looking for more options. Thanks though.

Thanks James. I am still looking at some options to help divide up some the compartments if need be, before adding a top or anything. Eventually they will be carpeted on the outside as well.

If you don't mind me asking. Where did you find these? I can only find one set on ebay for 100 dollars. Or a couple places for 45 each.

I went to a junk yard and was pulling a used set of z71 springs off of a Tahoe that was all burnt up and the emblems were still on it so I poped them off and took them to the counter with the springs and he didn't even charge me for them, the junk yard was called Pops PicknPay located in Mechanicsville VA, I got the springs for $15 and emblems on the house I felt pretty good when I left  I didn't realize people were looking for them I'll keep a look out I tend to go to junk yards 2 or 3 times a week just looking around

Or if you know someone who works at a GM factory have them snag you a set they literally have bins filled with all of them not only the z71s but bow ties too :thumright:

The two pick-a-parts near me never get anything that new. Usually with newer cars someone out there would rather fix it than sell it for $500+/- to a junk yard. I will keep my eyes peeled though for a set though.

The bow tie doesn't help me none, I have a different bow tie than what they make now. It's slightly different in size.

I think it's just the picture. There is also some extra grease hangin around the outside of the ball joint which might make it look worse than it is. Those are new as of about 2k miles ago

@ James Downing

I'm still liking the way your rear bumper guard looks, does it just bolt on or does it need to be welded?
The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.
