Selling my tiregate hitchgate swinging spare tire carrier. Its same one as roadie has/had.

For those that donit know much about it...........
Carries up to 40" spare, mounts through your hitch but had built in hitch so that you dont lose towing capabilities.
Has swinging carrier so you can still move tire aside to get in the rear hatch. Has mounts for hi lift jack, OR you can get the accessories to mount gas cans or other stuff. Have the anti rattle wedge for it, so when you tighten it down it won't shake in your hitch.
Sell new for $700 plus roughly $150 to ship
Anyway, not sure but I'm probably missing stuff so heres the link to it

$300

Could we get a side shot so I can see how far it sticks out?

Yea, It looks a lot worse in this shot. It sticks out but its not as bad as this looks. Only one i have at the moment. Maybe Roadie will chime in. He had same one but had it formed into a rear bumper at one time.

How much do you think it would be to ship to Seattle? $100?...I've got exact ally $400 right now to spend and I've coveted that exact carrier for the last year. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thanks so much!!!

Regards,

-Charlie

I wouldn't even know how to go about shipping this to be honest. If someone knows and can chime in or help out then I'd possibly consider it.

How fortuitous... I just so happen to work in the shipping dept of the company I work for, so I can give out a few tips. For packaging, you might want to try and find a pallet large enough for the tire carrier to sit on, with nothing hanging over. It would be even better to find a box to sit on the pallet, that the carrier could fit in, then find some way to securely attach it all to the pallet. As for the actual shipping, I highly recommend CARRIERRATE.com. They will give you comparison pricing of shipping companies. DON'T go and schedule a shipment with FEDEX or UPS, right off the rip. They are usually at the higher end of the spectrum. Hope some of this helps.

I was also sick of it sticking out so far and getting in my sightline. Since I wasn't getting a custom rear bumper soon, I had my welder rip it apart, attach the swingarm parts to the OEM hitch crossmember, shorten the tire mount a-frame, and tuck it in closer to the lift glass to the driver's side of its original centered position.

I think it'll cost more than that. I shipped a set of running boards to Georgia from Pa and it was $127 via fedex.

I work with shipping too but nothing that is this oddly shaped.I mean if i ship it, i can ship it from my job so it can go freight and be skidded and sent from a dock. I know freight can be costly at times specially across the country.

So at this point do you think $500 would be sufficient in total?

Thanks

-Charlie

Just edit your title to "SOLD -Tiregate Hitchgate tire carrier."
that should keep folks from getting confused.
