Found a source of 86's

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Well I guess part of the search is over!

Some people have said that the 86's are out of stock but I have found a VERIFIED source for 86's. Another post about trying to find 87's in the sab system got me thinking, and after making a few calls and emails to several different sab dealers I was able to find some 86's. All 4 sab dealers I called reported of a dealer source in Michigan having over 10 units of the 86's. They all called the source to verify and the source came back positive for at least the two I just purchased.

I was a bit skeptic at first when the dealers would not tell me the name of this "dealer source" but after all 4 independently said some were available from this source in Michigan, and after the place I ordered from got confirmation of their presence, I am inclined to believe and share this information.

Just call up a Sab dealer parts department and they should hook you up

FWIW, I payed a total of 250.19 for my set of springs shipped to my door.

I hope this helps some!

Far from the $106 shipped that I paid for my '87s, but better than staying with stock springs and far from going to full coilovers for $900...

I know the price bites. :( It's actually more expensive then the 89's (go figure and ironically cheaper then the 85's) but after some ongoing carnage stories I would stay way from the 89's, unless you are putting on a bumper + Armour + winch, and that is not my goal.

I had not heard of 86s being sold out yet. Only 87 and 88s. Their source is probably just gm's parts warehouse. I believe most places just drop ship the hard to find stuff anyways.

I wish Bill. With college next year, and a me currently working on getting my pilots licence I am left with almost nothing to throw at the TB for fun. The only reason I can really justify the 86's is because the 83's are sagged, making my tb role to one side. But if you have any spare bumpers or skids your sick of cluttering your garage, feel more then welcome to through them my way! ;)

I've seen about four of five posts on this site and the OS saying that 86's were in the same boat as the 87s and 88s. At least if rockauto or gmpartsdirect say their out of stock, now you have a verified source.
