Ok so everytime someone comments in here I go check out their build thread. Thought I would fill you in on that since I keep going with random questions..

Joe (blazin), not entirely sure because yours is an ext, but if it DID have the plastic door moldings (dent strips) do you regret taking them off?

Contemplating taking the bulky black ones off of ours since one is falling off anyways and figured what the heck.

I'm probably becoming the most annoying "newb" on here and i'm very sorry..

I promise once the lift comes in and I suprise the hubby, he will take over and be a bit more knowledgable than me.

Will 1.25" wheel spacers work out ok or is 1.5 the smallest we can go?

1.5" is the smallest that can be used without additional modification. 1.25" will work but you will need to grind down the rear wheel studs a bit.

1.5" work out nicely with stock rims

the 3" lift, 1.5 spacers, 265/75/16 are one of the most popular combinations.
One thing I think might not have been mentioned is to get some large hose clamps to put over your CV axle boots. Changing the angle on them tends to make them want to come off and putting the large hose clamps on helps keep them on.

That combination will do what most people need. Depending on how rough the trails you plan to run, you'll want to get skid plates as well.

one other thought is if you plan on getting skids, it might be a little cheaper to ship them to WI vs CO. I expect BartonMD can get you more details if you are interested.

2005TB wrote:Jason, in your build thread you have your "After lift" picture. Is that with or without the body lift? Because if that is what it (should) look like with the 3" and the 265/75 guarddogs then i'm sold!

that's before the body lift. it's a good, sane combo that should be relatively trouble free

I would really recommend the 1.5 spacer because you don't have to cut the studs. The more simple the setup, the better off you are.

You're only getting this kind of help cause you're apparently a great wife. If Darren comes on here with the same questions we'll ridicule him relentlessly offroadtb style. lol

No I don't regret taking then off. It gives it a cleaner look. I also removed all the decals ( badges) on the back too. They do help with door dings so I just park away from everyone.

Know what else helps with door dings? Rock sliders.

Personally I would never get Treadwrights mine wore horribly. Were loud never balanced well. Would recommend jumping on clist and finding a good set of mud or at tires. Not sure if anyone here has run the new style TW tires yet

You'd be extremely lucky to find 265/75r16's on CL in our area.

I like the idea of being able to get 5 shipped to my door for cheaper than any tire out there, and the customer service alone is worth it. Ill give them a shot. Any problems and they will be hearing from me
