I must have missed this comment earlier. If you're referring to what I think you are, the point is to make the strut assembly look longer. Can you clarify your question?

Did you add washers inside the strut mount? I believe the springs do settle a bit after a couple weeks of driving. Maybe that's what you've experienced.
