As you tighten the nut you can see the spring compress slightly, I was guessing that alone might influence how the car sits. I got over .5" of extra thread, in comparison thats pretty loose. Just a guess, you may be totally correct.

Yes, the spring will compress some additional amount when the shock is off of the vehicle, or if the vehicle's weight is off of the shock. But it does not affect ride height - as when the weight of the vehicle is set on the spring, the length of the shock shaft has nothing to do with the compressed length of the spring.

Springs do settle some after installation though, and you'll notice they sag over time.

The convex metal "hat" on top of the bushing isnt quite big enough, diameter-wise" and over time, it just gets swallowed by the poly bushing. Then the bushing eventually falls off and now your shock is just bouncing around inside the spacer. Heres the thread about it (viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2716&start=40)

Wow thats crazy, and Roadie said it happened in under a years time! All due to the washer size huh? It looks like the RC washer is a bit bigger, but also has no sleeve. I tightened my bushings down almost as far as I could possibly go, but they are also rubber and not poly. Does BDS have a revised washer now?

I know Roadie was on them for a while about it, but no final word if they actually modified them. When I told BDS about it, they said I must've put them on wrong, but they'll send me replacement bushings for free.......
